The story of Alice In Wonderland comes to life with this theatre puppet kit.  Cut and assemble to create your own fantasy production!  It can be used repeatedly to retell the story of Alice, who falls through the rabbit hole into a world full of imaginary creatures!

Materials Needed: 

• cardstock paper
• color printer
• glue stick
• scissors
• popsicle sticks or paint stirrers
• adult hands to help little hands

What You’ll Do

Start by printing all the sheets. I suggest using cardstock because it’s more stable than printer paper. 

Cut out the front and inside parts of the stage. Trim any extra white space at the bottom of the pieces if needed.

Fold the tabs along the dotted lines.

Cut out the side pieces and the bottom of the stage front. Fold the tabs on the bottom piece along the dotted lines.

Use the tabs to glue the sides and bottom to the front of the stage.

Cut out the back of the stage and fold the tabs along the dotted lines.

Glue the back, sides, and bottom pieces together to complete the back of the stage.

You should now have two main parts of the stage.

Position the front of the stage onto the back, ensuring the sides of the front piece are on the outside.

Glue the bottom and sides securely to make the stage sturdy.

Cut out the printable puppets, leaving as much or as little white space around them as you’d like.

Attach each character to the end of a popsicle stick or straw with craft glue, letting the bottom part of the character hang freely. Let them dry before using them to put on your puppet show.

Cut out all of the stage scene pages.

Guide the backgrounds into the stage box, hanging them using the “valleys” of the theatre side walls. You may need to carefully trim the size of the background scenes to fit the stage.

Once you’ve assembled your puppet theater and characters, you’re ready to dive into the magical world of Alice in Wonderland. With a sturdy stage and creative puppets, kids can bring their favorite scenes to life or create entirely new adventures.
